Supervising PhD's
The Supervising PhD's program is designed to equip participants with the necessary skills to effectively supervise PhD students.
Program Description
After completing this training course, participants will have learned how to:
- Adjust their leadership style to specific situations
- Communicate effectively
- Give constructive feedback
- Supervise the planning
- Coach the writing process
- Deal with cultural differences
Program Content
The program content includes:
- Discussing the model of Situational Leadership
- Addressing the five principles of scientific integrity: Honesty, Carefulness, Transparency, Independence, and Responsibility
- Discussing various forms of dishonest and/or unethical/toxic behavior and individual experiences with it
- Using a system for planning a PhD project
- Strategies to help PhD students with the writing process

- Target audience: Beginners as well as supervisors with a couple of years' experience, including postdocs, assistant-, associate-, and full professors (not for PhD candidates)
