Program Objectives
The program aims to equip participants with the skills to:
- Describe the types of data present in an organization
- Explain what is needed to make data accessible for models, algorithms, and AI
- Identify common pitfalls in data-driven work
Program Content
The program covers the following topics:
- What are data and what types exist
- Data visualization
- From big data to a structured data matrix
- Data preprocessing and analysis
- Models, algorithms, and AI
- Pitfalls such as bias, discrimination, interpretation, accuracy, trust, implementation, data quality, and loss of skills
Teaching Method
The program is taught through an interactive live session with ample opportunity for discussion and application to the participant's own practice.
Instructor
The program is taught by Prof. dr. Stťphanie van den Berg, University of Twente.
Preparation
Participants are required to write a half-A4 page about the data they work with, including what the data contains, how it looks, and what they do or want to do with it. This description should be sent to the instructor at least one week before the workshop.
