Program Overview

This module teaches the key concepts and strategies surrounding cybercrime and cybersecurity. Participants will learn how criminals operate, which vulnerabilities in systems and behavior they exploit, and how to design and apply effective countermeasures within their own organization.

• Explain what cybersecurity entails and why it is crucial for their organization

• Critically reflect on their own actions regarding digital security
• Apply strategies and mitigation measures to limit risks

About the Module

In the morning, participants will become familiar with the various forms of cybercrime, from cyber-enabled to cyber-dependent crimes. They will delve into crime scripts, kill chains, and the Routine Activity Theory. Additionally, they will learn about social engineering and the psychological influence techniques used by cybercriminals.

In the afternoon, participants will choose from two in-depth routes:

1. Situational Crime Prevention - Analyze vulnerabilities and discuss a national screening program for cyber risks.
2. Countermeasures & Testing - Investigate how to design, test, and validate measures within their organization.

This approach enables participants to better understand cyber threats and gain practical tools to prevent them.
