Program Overview
Scientific Information Bootcamp
The Scientific Information bootcamp is a program designed to equip participants with the skills to search for and manage scientific information, making optimal use of current technological possibilities for research and education purposes.
Program Details
- The program is intended for first-year PhD candidates from the University of Twente.
- The study load for this course is equivalent to 0.5 ECTS.
- The course will be offered five times per year, with two on-campus sessions and three online sessions.
- In 2025, the online courses will be held in January, September, and November.
- The specific time and place of the on-campus courses will be shared two weeks ahead of time.
Course Structure
- The course will take one whole mandatory day and approximately 10 hours of home study for assignments.
- The location for on-campus courses may vary, with exact locations provided before each course starts.
- The other two dates will be held online.
Requirements and Fees
- English language proficiency at level CEF B2 or higher (Common European Framework) is required.
- The training will be paid from central funds. However, if a participant registers and withdraws less than one week before it starts, their supervisor will be informed and asked to pay.
- There is a maximum of 50 participants.
Trainers and Materials
- The course will be led by LISA qualified teachers.
- Course materials will be provided during the training.
Important Notes
- It is prohibited to register for this course more than once. Any double registrations will be cancelled.
- Participants will be informed about the course and preparatory assignments via email and will receive an invite to Canvas.
- During the first meeting, additional information will be provided regarding the assignments required to successfully complete the course.
