Program Overview
Pre-Master's Programme
The pre-master's programme is a transfer and bridging programme designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to embark on their master's studies successfully. Upon completion of the pre-master's, students are granted admission to the Master's in Robotics.
Robotics
The Master's in Robotics is available to students with a university of applied sciences (HBO) degree, provided they first complete a six-month pre-master's programme.
What is a Pre-Master's?
The pre-master's is a programme that bridges the gap between HBO and university education, giving students the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in their master's studies.
Start Date
The pre-master's programme is only available in the autumn semester, starting on the first of September. After completing the pre-master's, students can start their master's programme on either the first of September or the first of February.
Programme
The pre-master's programme for HBO students contains 30 credits and is a full-time study programme that lasts one semester. The programme includes the following courses:
- Mathematics (30 ECs)
- Academic skills (4 ECs)
- Domain-related courses (11 ECs)
- The programme is divided into:

- Self-study (50%)
- Students can expect to spend forty hours per week on the programme.

Admission
Admission to the Pre-Master's in Robotics depends on the student's previous education.
Rules of the Pre-Master's
The pre-master's programme is designed to address any deficiencies in prior knowledge and to determine whether studying at a research university in the field of Robotics is right for the student. The following rules apply:
- Students must fulfill the requirements of the pre-master's within one year.
- Students must earn sufficient marks with a maximum of one re-sit per course.
- The pre-master's is a half-year, full-time programme of study, and students must take it seriously to be successful.
