The "Be your own boss" masterclass is a comprehensive program designed for students to develop their entrepreneurial skills. This program is part of the Pre-University activities offered by the University of Twente.

Program Content

The masterclass is designed to challenge students to explore their inner entrepreneur. Participants will create a business plan and gain insight into the workings of the University of Twente's entrepreneurs' hub, Incubase. The program utilizes the 'lean startup' method, where students work in groups to develop an idea, culminating in a pitch to real entrepreneurs.

Requirements and Outcomes

• Required Subjects/Profile: There are no specific required subjects for participating in this masterclass. However, related school subjects include economics, social studies, and social sciences.
• Outcomes:
  • Understanding of the 'lean startup' method and its application in developing a business idea.
  • Skill in pitching a business idea to others.
  • Experience with market research, customer interviews, and creating a minimum viable product.
  • Insight into whether entrepreneurship is a suitable career path.

Participation and Registration

Students from Pre-U partner schools register through their school's Pre-U coordinator. For students from non-partner schools, registration is possible through a provided form, with the requirement to inform a contact person (e.g., a mentor) at their school, as the participation fee will be invoiced to the school.
