Discover-U Program

The Discover-U program is an event designed for students to experience innovation and its impact on the world. The program takes place on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Universiteit Twente.


Program Details

  • Duration: 09.00 15.30 hours
  • Registration Deadline: April 2, during period 4, week 19
  • Cost: Free, but a fee of 25 per team will be charged if a team withdraws after registration

Program Structure

The day begins with an inspirational keynote by Giel de Winter, Creative Director at Talpa Social. Following the keynote, students work in teams of three or four on challenging cases within one of the tracks:

Tracks

  • Track 1 - E-Health: Exploring what smartwatches really tell us about ourselves
  • Track 2 - Smart Home: Understanding how smart technology influences daily life
  • Track 3 - From Viral Sensation to Online Dangers: Discovering the world behind trends
  • Track 4 - Your Dream Job 2.0: The impact of AI and robots on future careers

Team Registration

Teams of three or four can register. If a team member drops out, the team is free to find a replacement. However, if a team withdraws entirely, a fee of 25 will be charged.


Additional Information

  • The program includes time for fun and sports on the Universiteit Twente campus in the afternoon.
  • Photos and videos may be taken during the event for promotional purposes.
  • Participants can choose to receive updates on study choices and Open Days from the UT via email.
