Program Overview
Introduction to the Educative Module
The educative module is a program designed for individuals who have completed a university bachelor's degree and wish to share their knowledge with young people. This module enables participants to obtain a limited second-degree teaching qualification, allowing them to teach in secondary education and the lower levels of higher secondary education.
Program Details
The educative module is offered by the University of Twente and starts in September, lasting for half a year (30 EC). The program focuses on developing the didactic skills necessary for teaching in secondary education.

Participants in the educative module can choose to specialize in one of the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Computer Science
- Technology/Research and Design
Study Program
The study program for the educative module consists of the following courses:
- General Didactics, Pedagogy, and Education (5 EC)
- Introduction to Subject Didactics (5 EC)
- School Practicum 1 (5 EC)
- Subject Didactics 1 (5 EC)
- School Practicum 2 Minor (10 EC)
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for the educative module, participants must have completed a university bachelor's degree. The program is also open to students who are still completing their bachelor's degree, as long as they meet the requirements for the minor "Learning to Teach."
Application Procedure
Applications for the educative module must be submitted by April 15th of each year. The application should include:
- A brief motivation statement
- An overview of the completed university education
- Any relevant teaching experience
Continuing Education
After completing the educative module, participants may choose to pursue a first-degree teaching qualification by enrolling in the Master's program in Education in the Beta Sciences. Having already completed some of the required courses during the educative module, participants will be eligible for exemptions, allowing them to complete the Master's program more quickly.
