Creative Technology
Program Overview
University Program Information
The University of Twente (UT) offers a bachelor's program in Creative Technology, which can be studied in Amsterdam or Enschede.
Program Overview
The Creative Technology program is a broad study that combines wiskunde, programming, design, prototyping, and testing. Students learn to design and develop innovative solutions, such as a wekker that reminds people to move or a sensor-aangedreven LED-strip to improve the safety of fietsers and voetgangers.
Learning Approach
The program focuses on learning by doing, with students working on groepsprojecten at the end of each module. These projects allow students to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations, such as designing a manier to make the omgeving slimmer or creating a prototype to help people move more during the day.
Collaboration and Facilities
The UT collaborates with the Vrije Universiteit (VU) in Amsterdam, offering students the opportunity to study in both cities. Students can use facilities such as the DesignLab at the UT campus in Enschede, which provides a unique learning environment.
Student Experience
Students in the Creative Technology program have the opportunity to work on various projects, including those with startups and alumni. For example, one student worked on a project to design something that helps people move more during the day, resulting in a klein, laser-gesneden konijntje that reminds people to move.
Future Plans
After completing the bachelor's program, students can pursue a master's degree, such as the master Interaction Technology. The program prepares students for a career in various fields, including design, technology, and innovation.
Related Studies
Other studies related to Creative Technology include Technische Bedrijfskunde, which focuses on efficient planning and organization, and studies in the field of kunstmatige intelligentie (AI), which explores the development and application of AI in various areas.
Research Areas
The UT conducts research in various areas, including:
- Chiptechnologie
- Circulaire Economie
- Digitalisatie
