Introduction to Nedap University

Nedap University is a collaborative program between the Professional Learning & Development Centre of the University of Twente and Nedap. This program is designed for graduated beta students, providing them with a specialized course to become software developers.

Program Structure

The program consists of six modules, with the University of Twente responsible for four modules and Nedap for two. The duration of the program is one and a half years.

Admission Criteria

In principle, all graduated beta students can apply for the Nedap University program. However, the selection procedure is based on quality, and only about ten participants are selected per batch. The selected students come from various disciplines, including biomedical sciences and technical medicine, and are highly motivated.

Program Content

The program focuses on providing students with the necessary skills to become software developers. The last module of the program is "Discrete Structures and Efficient Algorithms," which is also the seventh module for both Mathematics and Informatics BSc students. In this module, students work together on a programming assignment to solve a famous problem in discrete mathematics.

Competitiveness

The program ends with a competition where students are challenged to solve as many difficult graph isomorphism problems as possible within a short time frame. The Nedap students have consistently scored high in this competition.

Career Prospects

The first batch of Nedap University participants has successfully landed jobs within the organization. They have learned to combine technical knowledge with listening to and analyzing customer needs, a unique combination that the program emphasizes.

About the Professional Learning & Development Centre

The Professional Learning & Development Centre of the University of Twente develops and organizes part-time master's and executive education programs for highly educated professionals and managers. The centre applies scientific knowledge in practice, combining it with the participants' own questions and experiences. The programs focus on acquiring new knowledge and inspiration, exchanging experiences, and expanding networks.
