Program Overview


Introduction to the Cyber Security Double Degree Program

The Cyber Security double degree program is a unique opportunity for students to study at two European universities and receive two Master's degrees upon completion. This program is designed for students who are passionate about entrepreneurship and business development and want to broaden their horizons by studying abroad for a year.


Structure of the Program

The program focuses on ICT systems, providing students with the necessary technical knowledge and practical skills in ethical hacking and quantum cryptography, among other techniques. The program also has a strong focus on ICT innovation, with an Innovation and Entrepreneurship minor that includes business courses. Students will plan and model an early-stage business that can be the foundation of their own company in the domain of cyber security.

First Year at the University of Twente

If students choose to study at the University of Twente in their first year, they will take the mandatory courses:


  • Security and Cryptography
  • Internet Security
  • Software Security
  • Cyber Risk Management They will also take an Innovation and Entrepreneurship basics course and learn about business management. In the Business Development Lab, students will work on a market survey, a business model generation process, and a venture development exercise. Additionally, they will attend a two-week summer school focused on innovation and entrepreneurship.

Exit Year at the University of Twente

If students choose to study at the University of Twente in their second year, they will take Cyber Security courses and Innovation & Entrepreneurship courses. They will also start preparing for their master's thesis in the course Research Topics and complete their double degree by writing their thesis.


Program Details

Upon completion of the program, students will receive two Master's degrees. The University of Twente is an entry and exit university, allowing students to start and end their Master's program at the University of Twente or at a university abroad.
