Program Overview

Humanitarian Engineering Master's Program

The Humanitarian Engineering Master's program is designed for students who have obtained their Bachelor's degree at the University of Twente (UT) or another research university. The program's admission criteria depend on the student's previous education.

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the program, students must have a Bachelor's degree from a Dutch research university or a similar institution. The admission committee will conduct an individual assessment procedure to determine if the student has sufficient basic qualifications for Humanitarian Engineering.

Program Structure

The program starts in September, and in some cases, students may be admitted under the condition that they follow the Pre-Master's first. The Pre-Master's starts in September, and students continue with the Master's in February.

Application Deadlines

Students must check the application deadlines beforehand to ensure they can apply for the program.

Conditional Acceptance

Students who have not yet graduated may be granted conditional acceptance based on their transcripts, detailed curriculum information, relevant research, and expected graduation date. To finally be enrolled in the (Pre-)Master's, students must submit their Bachelor's degree once obtained.

Pre-Master's

Students who need to follow a Pre-Master's first do not need to sign up for it separately. They apply by signing up for the Master's, and UT will alter this to a Pre-Master's registration. Once admitted, students get access to the Pre-Master's automatically.
