Program Overview


Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management

The Master of International Tourism and Hospitality Management helps graduates prepare for the next step in their career within the dynamic work environment of the local/global tourism and hotel industry. You will develop essential managerial-level skills that include, advanced business acumen, strategic thinking, high-level people management, leadership skills, resilience, empathy and specialised industry knowledge, with an emphasis on sustainability principles.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this program, you must meet one of the following criteria:


  • A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a related discipline and two years of relevant work experience (1 year duration)
  • A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a related discipline (1.5 year duration)
  • A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) and three years of relevant work experience, or a combination of alternative admission criteria (2 year duration)
  • You must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 (on a 7.0 point scale) in your previous qualification
  • Related discipline includes real estate, finance, technology, entertainment, recreation, food and beverage, accommodation, events, marketing, management, logistics and supply chain management, human resources, business analytics, accounting
  • Relevant work experience includes paid employment within the tourism and hospitality industry

Language Requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:


  • A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0
  • OR a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL
  • OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19)
  • OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
  • OR a minimum overall score of 176 (no score less than 169) on C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) or C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
  • OR an overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50

Degree Structure

    • 160 credit points for all Pathway 1 - duration 1 year (80CP of study and 80CP for prior learning)
    • 160 credit points for all Pathway 2 - duration 1.5 years (120CP of study and 40CP for prior learning)
    • 160 credit points for all Pathway 3 - duration 2 years

80 credit points for approved recognised prior study and/or work experience.


Exit Point

To be eligible to exit with the 3117 - Graduate Certificate in International Tourism and Hospitality Management award, you must acquire 40 credit points for Foundation Module and/or Core Module courses. To exit, you should apply for a program transfer.
