Graduate Certificate in Aviation Management

The Graduate Certificate in Aviation Management is a postgraduate program designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and vision needed to accept and master the challenge of changing management practices in the aviation industry.


Program Overview

This program is available to International students for study in Australia at Griffith University or via online study. The program is offered on a part-time basis, with a duration of 1 year. Alternative part-time options may be available.


Admission Requirements

To be eligible for this program, students must meet one of the following criteria:


  • A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher)
  • Three years of relevant work experience
  • A combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal, and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above

Students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 (on a 7.0 point scale) in their previous qualification. Relevant work experience includes supervisors and managers in a business environment, project officer, policy officer, captain, first officer, cabin crew, maintenance supervisor, or air traffic controller supervisor in an operational environment.


Language Requirements

English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are as follows:


  • A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0
  • OR a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL
  • OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19)
  • OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only)
  • OR a minimum overall score of 176 (no score less than 169) on C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) or C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English)
  • OR an overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50

English test results must be no more than two years old.


Tuition Fees

The indicative annual tuition fee for International students is $21,750 for 2026. This fee is based on a standard full-time study load, which is usually 80 credit points or 40 credit points for certificate programs. The tuition fee is charged according to the approved program fee for the trimester in which the student is enrolled.


Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning

Students may be eligible for credit based on their prior study or experience. This may reduce the amount of time it takes to complete their degree. Credit can include prior study undertaken through an accredited education provider or prior experience through professional or life experience.

The Graduate Certificate in Aviation Management is an AQF Level 8 qualification. The program requires students to complete 40 credit points, comprising foundation modules.
