Master of Human Resource Management and Employment Relations
The Master of Human Resource Management and Employment Relations is a postgraduate degree that covers essential areas of human resource management, including strategy and HR, evidence-based HRM, organisational change, international and comparative HRM, recruitment and selection, and performance and reward management. This program will further develop and deepen students' understanding of key policy formulation, negotiation, and implementation matters pertaining to the employment relationship in dynamic contexts.

Attendance Information
This program is offered full-time and part-time on-campus and online. Students may choose to study courses at other campuses or online where the program structure allows.
Career Opportunities
In gaining comprehensive knowledge of both employment relations (ER) and human resource management (HRM), students will be well-prepared for working across both ER and HRM, including generalist roles such as human resources manager, employment relations manager, director of employee relations, human resources business partner, human resources officer, or specialist roles which may include recruitment manager or officer, training manager or facilitator, pay/rewards officer, human resource policy adviser, employee adviser, organisational change manager, workplace relations adviser, labour relations adviser, or trade union officer.
Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission, students must have:
- A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a related discipline and two years of relevant work experience for the 1-year duration (80CP).
- A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) in a related discipline for the 1.5-year duration (120CP) - Flexible entry.
- A recognised Bachelor degree (or higher) and a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal, and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to the above criteria for the 1.5-year duration (120CP) - Foundation entry. Students must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 (on a 7.0 point scale) in their previous qualification.
Language Requirements
English language requirements apply to International applicants and other applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English. The minimum English language requirements for such applicants for entry to this program are:
- A minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0.
- OR a minimum score of 575 on TOEFL.
- OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 79 (no sub-score less than 19).
- OR no score less than 3+ in each skill of the ISLPR (conducted by ISLPR Language Services only).
- OR a minimum overall score of 176 (no score less than 169) on C1 Advanced (formerly Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English) or C2 Proficiency (formerly Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English).
- OR an overall score of 58 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with no score less than 50.
Credit and Recognition of Prior Learning
Students may be eligible for credit based on their prior study or experience. This may reduce the amount of time it takes to complete their degree. Credit can include prior study undertaken through an accredited education provider or prior experience through professional or life experience such as employment, workplace training, volunteer work, or community-based activities.
Degree Details
The Master of Human Resource Management and Employment Relations requires the completion of 120 credit points. The program structure includes:
- 80 credit points for all core modules.

The indicative annual tuition fee for international students is $41,000. This fee is based on a standard full-time study load of 80 credit points and is subject to change.
