Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)

Entry Requirements

• Prerequisites: One of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Psychology (Units 3 and 4, C).
• English language requirements apply to applicants whose previous study was undertaken in a language other than English.
  • A minimum overall band score of 7.0 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 7.0.
  • OR an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 94 with the following minimum scores in each section of the test: 24 for listening, 24 for reading, 27 for writing, and 23 for speaking.
  • OR a minimum overall score of 65 in the Pearson Test of English (Academic) with a minimum score of 65 in each of the four communicative skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).
  • OR the Occupational English Test (OET) with a minimum score of B in each of the four components (listening, reading, writing, and speaking).

Program Structure

• The program requires the completion of 320 credit points, comprising:
  • 310 credit points for the Core Module.
  • 10 credit points from the Flexible Module.
• Students must also ensure that:
  • Selected courses must include at most 120 credit points at level 1.
  • Selected courses must include at least 60 credit points at level 3 or higher.

Dissertation

• Eligibility to enroll in the Dissertation courses from Year 4/Trimester 1 is determined by the Program Director and will be subject to the following criteria:
  • Achievement of a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0 for all coursework at the completion of Trimester one of the third year of the program.
  • The suitability of the proposed dissertation topic.
  • The resources available to support the candidature, including the availability of appropriate supervision.

Honours Component

• The degree with Honours may be awarded in the following classes:
  • Class I Honours
  • Class IIA Honours
  • Class IIB Honours
  • Class III Honours
• The class of Honours to be awarded to each student in this degree will be determined on the basis of the program GPA achieved by a student in all attempts at all courses that contribute towards the program.
