Business Chinese Program

The Business Chinese program is designed for business people working with Chinese-speaking communities. The program aims to teach Chinese business culture and etiquette, as well as how to understand and communicate better with Mandarin speaking clients and partners.

Program Structure

The program consists of several levels, including Basic Business Chinese and Intermediate Business Chinese.

Basic Business Chinese

• Level 1: A 13-week course introducing practical vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar, with a focus on business customs and practices.
• Level 2: A 13-week course designed for those with prior knowledge of Mandarin or who have completed Basic Business Chinese (1), introducing more advanced business customs and practices.
• Level 3: A 13-week course designed for those who have completed Basic Business Chinese (1) and (2), focusing on advanced business customs and practices.
• Private lessons: Available for those who prefer flexible class times and customized study programs.

Intermediate Business Chinese

• Level 1: A 13-week course designed for business people with extensive knowledge of Chinese, focusing on advanced business customs and practices.
• Level 2: A 13-week course designed for those who have completed Basic Business Chinese (1), focusing on advanced business customs and practices.
• Level 3: A 13-week course designed for those who have completed Basic Business Chinese (1) and (2), focusing on advanced business customs and practices.
• Private lessons: Available for those who prefer flexible class times and customized study programs.

Program Details

• Class size: The minimum class size is three, and classes with fewer than three students may be subject to cancellation or merging with a similar class.
• Class attendance: Full attendance is encouraged, and make-up lessons are not offered for missed classes.
• Registration flexibility: Students may register after the deadline if space is available, and registration will close two weeks before the first class meeting.
• Class times: Class times are somewhat flexible and may be subject to change with teacher and student confirmation after the first class meeting.
• China Study Tour: Students who complete one term of TCI courses are eligible for a free two-week China Study Tour (excluding international airfare and insurance).
• Refund policy: Full refunds will be given if a class is cancelled, and no refunds will be issued once a course has commenced.

Tuition Fees

• Basic Business Chinese (1, 2, and 3): $400.00 per term
• Intermediate Business Chinese (1, 2, and 3): $400.00 per term
• Private lessons: $600.00 per term (12 meetings)
