Program Overview

Preparatory Course

The preparatory course is designed for applicants who do not hold a foreign university entrance qualification that entitles them to directly enroll in a degree programme in Germany. To be eligible, applicants must have previous education that qualifies them to attend the preparatory college. Information on the recognition of foreign qualifications can be found through official channels.

Application

Applications are only possible for the winter semester. The Charité does not issue conditional admissions, meaning all admission requirements must be proven at the time of application or by the end of the application period.

Interesting Facts in Advance

• The assessment test (FSP) can be taken externally at the preparatory college after self-preparation.
• The number of test places is limited due to capacity reasons.
• Under certain conditions, the range of subjects that can be studied can be expanded by taking a supplementary examination after successfully passing an FSP in another specialized course.

Application Deadlines

• Application Deadline: 15 July
• Applications for the Studienkolleg for Bachelor's degree programs are only possible until 15 June due to the upstream deadline for applying for the test report.

The following documents must be uploaded to the application portal:

• Certificates of previous education
• Proof of German language skills
• Certified translations of all certificates into German or English
• Passport
• APS Certificate: Required for applicants from China, India, and Vietnam
• International Baccalaureate/US High School Diploma: Additional information is available through official channels

Process

Admission Test | Schedule

• If applied in due time and form, an invitation to take the study aptitude test will be received.
• The test can be repeated once if it does not lead to admission.
• A sample test is available for preparation.

M-Course

• The training takes place in specialized courses geared towards the desired field of study.
• The training at the preparatory college usually lasts two semesters and is carried out at the Freie Universität Berlin.
• Compulsory subjects include German, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics.
• Enrollment fees are payable (currently approximately 360, including a Germany semester ticket).
• Passing the assessment test grants subject-specific university entrance qualification for undergraduate programs at Charité.
• Successful completion of the assessment test does not guarantee admission to the desired program.
