The nursing work placement program offers various practical placements for individuals seeking to gain experience in nursing care.
Program Overview
Nursing placements are contingent upon proof of full vaccination status (2G rule) and, for minors, parental consent. The program provides opportunities for registered medical students, students studying for specific qualifications (MTLA, MTRA, MTFA, physiotherapist, OTA, ATA, midwifery), Technical College graduates with Social Services qualifications, and University graduates with vocational degree qualifications (Nursing Management/Nursing Science).
Eligible Candidates
The program is open to the following candidates:
- Registered medical students
- Students studying for the following qualifications:
- MTLA
- MTRA
- MTFA (Medical Assistant / Radiologist Assistant)
- Physiotherapist
- OTA (Surgical Assistant)
- ATA (Anesthesia Technician)
- Midwifery
- Technical College graduates with Social Services qualifications
- University graduates with vocational degree qualifications (Nursing Management/Nursing Science)
- Students pursuing additional qualifications (e.g., Anesthesia Nursing and Intensive Care Nursing, Management)
Career Tasters
The program also offers work experience/placements in preparation for training/study.
Requirements
To be eligible for the program, candidates must:
- Be aged 14 or over
- Provide a letter of application with the following information:
- Period of the internship or job shadowing
- Desired department and location, as well as alternatives
- Reason for stay (e.g., student internship, school internship, advanced training, career orientation)
- Submit a curriculum vitae
- Students must send their matriculation certificate
- Pupils must send their last school report
- Non-EU citizens must attach a valid visa or work permit + additional sheet to their application
- Applicants of non-German origin must have a completed language level of minimum B2
Application Process
Applications must be submitted at the latest 10 weeks prior to the start of the placement.
