Program Overview


Master of Science in Public Health Program

The Berlin School of Public Health (BSPH) offers a Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH) program. The program admits approximately 60 students each year, with courses starting in the winter semester in early October.


Program Details

  • The course language of this master's degree is German, and only selected modules are offered in English.
  • The subject test and application process are also conducted in German.
  • Applicants who have submitted an application for admission in due form and time and meet the admission requirements will be invited to take part in a subject test.

Application Procedure

  • The application period is from May 1 to May 31, 2026.
  • All applicants who have submitted an application for admission in due form and time and meet the admission requirements will be invited to take part in a subject test.
  • The subject test will take place in Berlin on the Charité Campus Mitte.
  • The exact date and time of the subject test will be announced on the Charité application page.

Subject Test

  • The subject test lasts approximately 90 minutes.
  • The invitation to the subject test will be sent at least 8 days in advance, exclusively by email.
  • The subject test gives applicants the chance to strengthen their application.
  • The subject test consists of questions on:
    • The basics of epidemiology and statistical thinking.
    • The interpretation of statistical data in graphs and scientific literature.
    • Comprehension questions on an English specialist text.
  • The subject test consists of various question formats, including multiple-choice questions, true/false decisions, calculation tasks, and free text questions.

Admission Criteria

  • Places on the MScPH are allocated according to a ranking list of applicants.
  • The ranking is made up of the grade in the previous degree (55%) and the grade in the subject test (45%).
