Program Overview

Program Overview

The BeST program focuses on the assessment of Frailty, a critical aspect of medical decision-making, particularly for vulnerable patients. The program aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of Frailty and its evaluation, as well as the importance of standardized assessment and measurement.

Clinical Relevance

The modern medical landscape presents daily challenges in communication within and across teams, emphasizing the need for effective decision-making. For frail patients, medical decisions can have significant consequences, making reliable measurement and standardized evaluation of Frailty and care levels crucial for patients, their families, and healthcare providers.

Context

The BeST project, part of Prðp GO, seeks to address the barriers to indication for prehabilitation by providing 20 eLearning modules and in-house workshops on Shared Decision Making (SDM) and 20 additional modules on care level (PG) and Frailty assessment. This initiative aims to homogenize the initial conditions for implementing prehabilitation across all partner institutions before elective procedures.

Learning Concept

The theoretical foundation of Frailty and care level assessment is introduced through eLearning. A subsequent simulation course creates everyday, medical, and conversational situations with high error potential, making abstract concepts tangible and emotionally engaging.
