The Charitķ Fortbildungsakademie offers a comprehensive program for medical professionals, specifically the Grundkurs zum Erwerb der erforderlichen Fachkunde im Strahlenschutz f³r das õrztliche Personal und Medizinphysik-Experten (MPE).

Program Description

This presence seminar is designed for physicians from various specialty groups and medical physics experts who aim to acquire the necessary expertise in radiation protection. The program is also suitable for medical physics experts in training.

Program Objectives

The primary objectives of the program are to:

• Provide fundamental knowledge in radiation protection for all applications of ionizing radiation and/or radioactive substances on humans.
• Serve as a prerequisite for participating in a specialized course that builds upon the foundational knowledge acquired in this program.

Program Content

The curriculum covers a range of topics, including:

• Fundamentals of radiation physics
• Principles and organization of radiation protection
• Requirements for practicing activities involving radiation
• Dose concepts and dosimetry
• Legal regulations
• Natural and civil exposure
• Radiobiological fundamentals, including the effects of small doses
• Radiological emergencies
