Immunocytochemistry and live cell markers
Program Overview
Immunzytochemie und Lebendzellmarker Program
Overview
The Immunzytochemie und Lebendzellmarker program is a 2-day course (6 hours each day) designed for employees of Charitť, doctoral students, and postdoctoral researchers. The course is led by Dr. rer. nat. Gisela Lšttig and focuses on the application of antibody-based or compartment-specific staining techniques to visualize protein localization in its native environment.
Description
This mixed theoretical and practical course covers the production, types, and processing quality of antibodies, different fixation methods, and their impact on protein structure. It also explores staining techniques and detection possibilities.
Objective
The primary objective of this course is to enable participants to perform immunofluorescent cell staining and apply live cell markers in cell cultures under microscopic control.
Content
- Fixation
- Permeabilization
- Blocking
- Washing steps
- Antibody types and antibody fragments
- Fluorescent fusion proteins
- Hydrophilic, hydrophobic, and reactive live cell markers
Participation Fee
The participation fee is waived for Charitť employees, doctoral students, and postdoctoral researchers.
