Program Overview
The program for training as a dietetic assistant is a three-year course that is federally regulated. Theoretical and practical training phases alternate regularly, ensuring an optimal theory-practice transfer.
Theoretical training
The theoretical training covers the following areas:
- Medical basics, such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, and nutrition medicine
- Basics of natural and health sciences, such as biochemistry, hygiene, and toxicology
- Fundamentals of nutritional science, such as nutrition and food science
- Social science fundamentals, such as pedagogy, psychology, and sociology
- Fundamentals of economics, such as hospital management and nutrition economics
- Dištetics and nutritional therapy with a minimum of 1,000 hours as a training focus
- Nutritional communication

Requirements
We are looking for:
- Individuals who have a pleasure in dealing with people, are communicative, and empathetic
- Individuals who possess curiosity and a willingness to learn
- Individuals who enjoy cooking and baking
- Individuals who have pedagogical skills and physical and mental resilience
- Individuals who can provide a good secondary school diploma, a university entrance qualification, or a general higher education entrance qualification
- Individuals who have good grades in the natural sciences, such as chemistry and biology
- Individuals who have the health suitability for the training profession
- Individuals whose German language skills correspond to the minimum requirement with language level C1
- An internship in the area of large kitchen, nutrition therapy is recommended but not a requirement

Important Information about the Training
- You will receive a fair training salary (gross) based on the collective agreement for trainees, which increases over the course of the three training years
- 1st training year: 1,365.24
- 2nd training year: 1,425.30
- 3rd training year: 1,522.03
- The weekly working time is 38.5 hours
- The training contract includes 30 days of vacation, an annual special payment in November, additional company pension in the public service (VBL), and capital-forming benefits (VWL)
- You will receive a completion bonus of 400 euros when you successfully complete the final examination and a possible travel ticket
- You have very good chances of being taken over if you pass the final examination and work successfully during the training
