Program Overview
The Deutsche Herzzentrum der Charité (DHZC) and the Pflegeschule der DHZB Akademie offer a joint training program for nursing professionals. The program aims to educate students as Pflegefachfrau, Pflegefachmann, or Pflegefachperson, providing them with comprehensive knowledge and skills in the field of nursing.
Program Details
- The program duration is three years, consisting of a minimum of 2,500 hours of practical training and approximately 2,100 hours of theoretical instruction with practical components.
- The training concludes with a written, oral, and practical examination.
- More than 1,300 hours of practical training take place at the DHZC, covering areas such as heart surgery, cardiology, pediatrics, and intensive care units.
- Additional practical training is provided through external placements with cooperating partners in ambulatory, long-term care, and psychiatric facilities.
- Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are entitled to use the professional title of Pflegefachfrau, Pflegefachmann, or Pflegefachperson.
- The program offers high job security and diverse career prospects through further education and/or study.
Admission Requirements
- A good secondary school diploma (MSA, FOR, Realschulabschluss) or an equivalent school diploma.
- Alternatively, a successfully completed other general education of ten years (e.g., extended Hauptschulabschluss).
- Alternatively, a good Hauptschulabschluss/BBR combined with a completed training in the field of health and nursing care of at least one year's duration or another completed training of at least two years.
- For non-native German speakers: proof of language proficiency at the B2 level.
- Physical and personal suitability for the profession of Pflegefachfrau, Pflegefachmann, or Pflegefachperson.
- Interest in medical contexts and enjoyment of working with people.
- Reliability, teamwork skills, and organizational talent.
- A nursing internship is recommended to familiarize oneself with the demands of the nursing profession.
