Program Description

The "Tischmanieren - Medizin" tutorial provides an in-depth introduction to the operating room and a simulated operating room experience in a Big Brother-style setting. Participants will be thoroughly prepared by reviewing all steps of a normal operating room procedure, from arrival in the lockroom to exit. The tutorial will also cover typical "beginner mistakes" and provide an opportunity for participants to apply their knowledge in a self-directed operating room simulation.

Program Details

Target Audience

The tutorial is designed for medical students who have little or no experience in the operating room. It is intended for students who plan to work in the operating room in the near future, such as during their first surgical internship or mandatory surgical term.

Requirements

• Participants should have little or no experience in the operating room.
• The tutorial is open to medical students from the first semester onwards.

Objectives

The objective of the tutorial is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of operating room procedures, enabling them to feel more confident and prepared during their first operating room experiences.

Program Structure

• The tutorial will take place over a period of 120 minutes, without breaks.
• The tutorial will be conducted in an interprofessional setting.
• The number of participants is limited to 3-6 students.
