Introduction to the Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management (CoMEM)
The Erasmus Mundus master's degree in Coastal and Marine Engineering and Management (CoMEM) is a program designed to provide advanced training to future scientists and engineers with responsibilities in coastal, harbour, and offshore projects. This includes management and administration roles in sea-related engineering firms. The program is coordinated by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, with the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) as a participating institution.
General Details
- Duration and Start Date: The program lasts for 2 academic years, totaling 120 ECTS credits, and starts in August.
- Timetable and Delivery: Classes are held in the mornings and afternoons, following a face-to-face delivery method.
- Language of Instruction: English is the primary language used in the program.
- Location:
- First Semester: All students attend the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology, Department of Civil and Transport Engineering, in Trondheim, Norway.
- Second Semester: Students attend either the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands or the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona School of Civil Engineering, depending on their chosen track.
- Third Semester: Students attend one of the participating universities (Delft University of Technology, University of Southampton, City University, or the Norwegian University of Science and Technology) based on their track.
- Fourth Semester: Students attend one of the five universities within the consortium, which may include one they have previously studied at, according to their chosen track.

The degree is officially recorded in the Ministry of Education's degree register.

- Places: The program offers 20 places.
- Pre-enrolment: To enroll, students must pre-enroll through the coordinating university, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
