Program Overview

Introduction to the Grado en Ingeniería de Ciencias Agronómicas

The Grado en Ingeniería de Ciencias Agronómicas is a university degree that provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to project, plan, direct, and manage processes related to agricultural and livestock production. This degree is offered by the Escuela de Ingeniería Agroalimentaria y de Biosistemas de Barcelona (EEABB) at the Universitat Politčcnica de Catalunya (UPC).

Description of the Degree

The Grado en Ingeniería de Ciencias Agronómicas is a four-year degree that consists of 240 ECTS credits. The degree is divided into two mentions: Hortofructicultura y Jardinería (Hortofruit and Gardening) and Producción Agropecuaria (Agricultural and Livestock Production). Students can choose one of these mentions to specialize in.

Mention in Hortofructicultura y Jardinería

This mention provides students with a multidisciplinary education in areas such as environmental management systems, water use, landscape design, green space implementation, ecosystems, and biodiversity. Students will also learn about the technological fundamentals of engineering to design green areas and carry out projects for environmental preservation and improvement, landscaping, and horticultural and fruit production.

Mention in Producción Agropecuaria

This mention provides students with education in areas such as animal health, nutrition, and welfare; livestock production systems; extensive crops, orchards, and fruit crops; irrigation technology; agricultural machinery and constructions; crop protection; waste management; agroecology; and organic food production.
