Mŕster Universitari en Aqüicultura
The Mŕster Universitari en Aqüicultura is a master's program coordinated by the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and participated in by the Universitat Politčcnica de Catalunya (UPC). The program aims to train highly qualified and multidisciplinary professionals, executives, and managers who can make decisions and assume operational tasks with a focus on the sustainability of the company and the aquaculture sector in the long term.

Sortides Professionals
Graduates of this master's program will be recognized experts in the management of fish farms, feed factories, and equipment for aquaculture, diagnostic services, design of installations, public administrations related to fishing, aquaculture, and the environment. They can also dedicate themselves to research in physiology of aquatic species, fish pathology, engineering of installations, and production management, taking into account environmental sustainability and animal welfare.

Competčncies Transversals
The transversal competencies describe what a graduate should know or be able to do after completing the learning process, regardless of the degree. The transversal competencies established at the UPC are entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainability and social commitment, knowledge of a third language (preferably English), teamwork, and solvent use of information resources.
Competčncies Específiques
Upon completing the master's program, graduates will be able to:
- Make decisions about stock and larval management to obtain the maximum advantage of the fish's growth potential, choose suitable installations and water conditions, and predict the evolution of the stock for commercialization.
- Choose the appropriate nutrition, feeding, and management parameters to obtain a quality product. Formulate suitable feed according to requirements.
- Make decisions in the management of breeders and reproductive strategies.
- Evaluate and interpret productive and sanitary parameters of cultivated animals, considering economic and welfare aspects.
- Maintain the health and welfare of animals, prioritizing prevention strategies over therapy.
- Detect the main symptoms of diseases and make a diagnosis.
- Decide on the main strategies in planning and managing aquaculture projects to obtain a sustainable and responsible company.
- Choose among the different available technologies.
- Elaborate projects and feasibility studies for the launch of new installations or modification of existing ones.
- Design a quality management plan in the aquaculture company and environmental management of the company.
- Evaluate the implications of technical decisions on the company's economy and market decisions to be able to advise or manage aquaculture companies in a context of sustainability.
- Identify the main risk factors in aquaculture activity and propose appropriate measures.
