Sortides Professionals
The postgraduates of this master's degree will be experts, with advanced technological knowledge and the ability to form part of research and technological innovation teams in the field of natural resource engineering. In addition to a natural outlet as researchers in public and private research centers, they will also be able to work in administration, waste management entities, teaching, extractive industry in general, companies that supply equipment for waste treatment, and environmental engineering.
Competčncies
Competčncies Transversals
The transversal competencies describe what a graduate should know or be able to do at the end of the learning process, regardless of the degree. The transversal competencies established at the UPC are entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainability and social commitment, knowledge of a third language (preferably English), teamwork, and solvent use of information resources.
Competčncies Específiques
- Analyze field and laboratory data and design experiments using computerized methods
- Know the analytical techniques for characterizing inorganic natural resources, as well as waste in its different states, know how to use them and interpret the results
- Use scientific-technical information to respond efficiently to any demand for preparation of an analytical method for characterizing a material of natural or anthropogenic origin
- Use geological materials in high-value industrial processes
- Know in depth the techniques of remote sensing and image interpretation for satellite applications in the characterization and management of geological origin natural resources
- Identify processes of contaminant accumulation in air, water, and soil compartments
- Identify the presence of metals in mining residues, mainly, but also in industrial and agricultural residues
- Design processes for minimizing pollution produced by the exploitation of natural resources
- Minimize pollution by dust, noise, and vibrations common in mining operations, using the most advanced techniques
- Restore degraded areas due to natural resource exploitation activities, using the most current restoration techniques
- Design natural biotechnological processes for the elimination of contaminants in solid, liquid, and gaseous media
