Program Overview


Master in Urban Mobility

The Master in Urban Mobility improves global urban mobility through improvements in technical infrastructure and comprehensive planning. The program trains engineers in transportation operations, mobility services, data science, ICT and energy technologies for sustainable mobility.

Objectives and Professional Opportunities

  • Professional opportunities: The work areas of graduates can be developed in the logistics and transport management sectors, areas of mobility and sustainability of public organizations, mobility operators, urban planning and consulting, the automotive sector and private mobility services, etc.
  • Competencies:
    • Transversal skills: entrepreneurship and innovation, sustainability and social commitment, knowledge of a third language, teamwork and reliable use of information resources.
    • Specific skills: analyze and design mobility and logistics services, design mobility data collection procedures, apply modeling, optimization and simulation techniques, diagnose the implications in the operation of supply chains, calculate fundamental variables of transport and mobility systems, plan, manage and exploit transport and mobility systems.

Study Plan

  • The study plan includes mandatory and optional subjects, with a specialization in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) and three intensifications: Transition towards sustainable mobility, Science and data analysis for smart mobility, and Business engineering in urban mobility.
  • Students must enroll a total of 60 ECTS, distributed in 30 ECTS in the First semester and 30 ECTS in the Second semester.

Access and Admission

  • Specific requirements: direct access for degrees in engineering, architecture, and training complements for other degrees.
  • B2 level of English required.
  • Access criteria: academic record, professional experience, level of knowledge of English, and correspondence of skills.
  • Pre-registration: the Master in Urban Mobility can be taken in two ways: entirely at the UPC or as part of the EIT Urban Mobility Master School program.

Master's Final Project (TFM)

  • The Master's Final Project must have the characteristics of a professional or research project specific to the degree.
