The Professional Academy Diploma in Women in Leadership is a course designed to address the specific challenges and opportunities encountered by women in leadership roles. Course Overview

The course will encourage participants to reflect on their own experiences with women in leadership, increasing self-awareness and understanding as they explore the latest research and trends in this field. The skills and knowledge covered are not industry-specific and can be instantly applied in a wide range of leadership and advocacy roles.

Course Modules

The course consists of 12 modules:

1. Lead Without Limits: Learn the importance of developing your leadership identity, including the self and leadership identity, and areas for growth.
2. Setting The Direction: Create a leadership vision and learn to scaffold it with support, covering challenges of leadership, decision making, and problem solving.
3. Defining Your Leadership Brand: Understand different leadership styles, preferences, and effectiveness, including framework and tools.
4. Why A Leadership Brand Matters Most For Women: Understand the expectations of female leaders in the workplace.
5. Improve Your Leadership Effectiveness: Improving decision-making and problem-solving in the workplace.
6. Effective Conflict Management At Work: Improve your ability to manage conflict effectively and have difficult conversations, including conflict management strategies.
7. Leveraging Your Confidence: Understand how confidence and competence are understood in the workplace and learn to enhance your own, including the bias towards confidence and how competence is understood.
8. Increasing Your Impact: Learn to build stronger relational and communication skills.
9. Owning Your Authority: Discover how power dynamics in organisations work and how to navigate them, including what are power dynamics.
10. Increase Your Influence: Learn about influencing techniques and stakeholder management skills.
11. Broaden Your Horizons: Learn to develop your networking and influencing skills.
12. Seeing The Bigger Picture: Understand the societal and organisational influences on women at work and how to mitigate their negative effects.

Assessment

The course is assessed through a weekly action learning log (worth 40% of the assessment) and a written assignment at the end of the course (worth 60% of the assessment). The weekly log requires answering three reflective questions after each lesson, with each log expected to be around 125 words long. The written assignment is part discussion and part self-reflection and is expected to be around 3,000 words long.

You can secure your spot on most courses with a low 30% deposit. The remaining balance can be paid in two equal instalments (30 and 60 days later). For full-time Bootcamp courses, you can secure your spot with a 50% deposit, with the remaining balance due prior to the start of your course.

They will respond to any queries you have, help you with any technical issues, and facilitate your learning experience at every point. All students are given access to the Student Portal, where you can see your timetable, access all your study materials, and manage your account.

Online Learning Experience

The online experience is designed to be just as interactive, supportive, and inspiring as the on-campus experience. Online courses can be accessed from any computer or laptop with an internet connection. Live lectures are delivered using Zoom, with teachers using technology interactively to ensure an engaging learning experience. When appropriate, students will be encouraged to activate their microphones so that they can ask questions and communicate with other students.

Students taking part in this course will have access to the EBSCO Online Library, free of charge, for the full duration of the course. Here you can browse thousands of relevant journals, articles, and other reliable academic and commercial texts, such as the Harvard Business Review, Bloomberg Businessweek, and Forbes Magazine, to supplement your learning and assignments.
