Program Overview
Applied Chinese Structured Elective
Overview
The Applied Chinese Structured Elective is designed to emphasize learning a language for work or study internationally. The focus is on functional language for use in social, professional, or scholarly environments. Upon completion of these modules, students should be able to communicate in Chinese at a beginner or intermediate level, speak, understand, read, and write in Chinese to the specified CEFR level, and demonstrate a better awareness of cultural issues in relation to Chinese and Chinese-speaking regions.
Benefits
The aim of this structured elective is to prepare students for greater mobility socially, professionally, or academically. Modules can be chosen to complement students' studies or work opportunities in Ireland or internationally.
