Program Overview

UCD Centre for English and Global Languages

The UCD Centre for English and Global Languages offers an extensive range of language electives to students across the university. Elective modules allow students to build language learning into any degree.

Global Language Modules

We offer electives in fourteen global languages at levels ranging from absolute beginner to advanced. Modules are offered at six different levels of proficiency, from Level 1 (absolute beginners) to Level 7 (advanced).

Structured Electives

A Structured Elective in a language will appear on your official UCD Transcript as a specialisation. It is also possible to achieve a Structured Elective with some of our language modules, taking your elective credits in a structured manner to form a recognised block of learning in a subject area.

Module Structure and Assessment

Course schedules, resources, assessment methods, and periods are available for each module.

English Language Modules

English for General and Academic Purposes modules are available for Erasmus and international non-native English speaking students.
