Program Overview
Introduction to the UCD RISE Leadership and People Management Programme
The UCD RISE Leadership and People Management Programme is a comprehensive development program designed for Senior Leaders and People Managers across the University College Dublin (UCD). The program has engaged over 500 leaders and managers since 2022, with more than 1300 attendances across its suite of offerings.
Program Overview
The RISE program is a high-impact learning journey consisting of a series of modules that must be completed in sequence. The program is designed to empower leaders in achieving the goals of the UCD Strategy 2030, 'Breaking Boundaries', by cultivating leaders who can effectively address critical global challenges.
Program Structure
- The program consists of a Core Module, which is attended by Senior Leaders and People Managers together to share experiences and create common approaches and language.
- People Managers then attend their Essentials modules in sequence, with only one Essentials Module available for Senior Leaders.
- The program also offers optional RISE Insights Sessions on various topics, including HR, Organisational Change, EDI, Finance, and Research Finance, and DiSC.
- Additionally, RISE Peer Connect sessions are available, which are self-contained, one-hour sessions that allow for the continuation of learning and sharing among the community of people managers and leaders.
Program Details
- The final Core Module will be held in January 2026, followed by the final Essentials sessions between February and April 2026.
- A new development program for people managers and leaders is expected to be launched later in 2026.
- The program is designed to facilitate participants in reflecting and planning their individual and collective approaches to navigating an ever-changing and complex landscape.
- Each session includes personal reflection, action planning, small group conversation, idea generation, and discussion.
Program Delivery
- The RISE program is delivered by strategic partners, Flow Group.
- The program is committed to combining creatively across disciplines and working with partners to drive impact and excellence in education and research.
- The program aims to ensure every member of the community is enabled to achieve their full potential.
