University College Dublin offers a range of programs for students and staff. One of the programs available is the Yellow Belt training.
Yellow Belt Training
Description
The Yellow Belt training provides participants with a good understanding of the concepts and key tools of Lean Six Sigma and includes a hands-on lean process simulation exercise. On completion, trainees will be ready to actively participate on Lean Six Sigma projects.
Duration
The training is available in two formats:
- Virtual training: 2 x 2 hour sessions separated by a day or so, with some pre-course work required.
- Regular mode: One day.
Who Should Attend
This course is intended for all UCD staff who are key participants on a project or have a project in mind.
Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes of the Yellow Belt training include:
- Outlining the concepts and principles of Lean Six Sigma and its application to process improvement and UCD Agile.
- Understanding the DMAIC methodology used to drive Agile projects.
- Applying some of the key Lean Six Sigma Tools to eliminate waste and tackle issues impeding the best utilization of resources.
- Using the Agile A3, a simplified version of DMAIC, to tell the story of how an issue was addressed that was impeding the best utilization of resources.
