Program Overview
MA Geography Program
The MA Geography program is designed for students who wish to develop a deeper understanding of key geographical ideas and themes, including historical geography, environment, and human geography. The program is offered in Ireland and provides a comprehensive set of core modules that cover a broad base of key skills and knowledge sets.
Program Structure

Indicative Course Content
The program includes the following modules:
- GEOG40820 Introduction to ArcGIS: This module introduces students to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and enables them to understand conceptual, theoretical, and practical geographical considerations.
- GEOG40940 International Urban Fieldwork: This module explores major urban issues in an international context, focusing on Europe's global city, London.
- GEOG40870 Advanced GIS: This module builds upon the skills gained in the Introduction to ArcGIS module and further develops students' theoretical and practical knowledge of GIS.
- GEOG40750 Reimagining Dublin: This module provides an introduction to the design of more people-focused liveable cities and considers "play" as a catalyst for design.
- GEOG40890 Remote Sensing: This module aims to provide adequate knowledge of the concepts, principles, and utility of Remote Sensing technology and prepares students to apply it to their research interests.
Admission Criteria
