Human-Centered AI Track
The Human-Centered AI track is part of the Human-Technology Interaction master's program. This track introduces students to the overarching content of the program, including core courses on UX design, advanced data analysis, and metascience.
Core Courses
The core courses for the Human-Centered AI track include:
- Advanced Cognition, which covers research questions and methodologies of cognitive science
- Philosophy and Ethics of AI, which explores philosophical and ethical questions about artificial intelligence
- Human-AI Interaction, which helps students comprehend and anticipate the impacts of AI on human-technology interactions
- Super Crunchers, which provides an in-depth understanding of model-based versus human decision-making
- A challenge-based project, where students design and evaluate an AI-driven system in an application domain of their choice
Graduation Project
The master's program concludes with a graduation project, which takes up two quartiles of the program and is often conducted within an organization in the relevant domain. Students formulate a practical, scientific, and relevant research question, with a high degree of freedom to choose a topic that appeals to them and matches their career vision.
Studying Abroad
The master's degree in Human-Technology Interaction offers the option to spend part of the program abroad, providing valuable experience for an international career in technological innovation, including human-centered AI.
Research Areas
TU/e has various research areas, including institutes, research groups, research labs, and research projects. The university also has a range of departments, including the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, which offers courses such as Machine Learning Engineering.
