Program Overview
Management and Organization in Healthcare
The Masterclass Management and Organization (M&O) is designed for technology professionals in the healthcare sector. The course aims to teach participants how to participate in the management of a technical department and the organization of a healthcare institution.
Target Group
The target group for this masterclass includes:
- Clinically trained physicists (in training)
- Biomedical technologists (in training to become QME)
- Clinical informaticians (in training to become CI)
- Doctors (in training) and other technology professionals working in healthcare
Objective
The objective of the M&O masterclass is to teach clinically trained physicists and (bio)medical engineers how to participate in the management of a technical department in a hospital and to apply guidelines and rules in practice.
Structure
The masterclass is an interactive 2-day course, offered once a year in Eindhoven. The course has a study load of 3 ECTS upon completion of a thesis. Participants can expect to spend around 50 hours on the thesis. For SMPE/e-QME trainees, this 2-day course, including a thesis, is mandatory.

Program
The program for the 2026 course is in development. The course covers financial management, project leadership, procurement of medical technology, and internal and external management in a healthcare institution.
