Program Overview

Admission to the Information Security Technology Program

The Information Security Technology (IST) program at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) has specific admission requirements.

Direct Access

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science obtained at TU/e or another Dutch university provides direct admission to the IST program.

International Bachelor Degree in CS

Students with an international Bachelor's degree in Computer Science must apply for admission via the Admission Committee.

Preparatory Courses for Non-CS Students

Non-CS students need to take the following preparatory courses:

  • 2WBB0: Calculus Variant 2
  • 2IT60: Logic and Set Theory
  • 2WF90: Algebra for Security
  • 2DRR00: Linear Algebra and Applications
  • 2INC0: Operating Systems
  • 2IRR40: Security

These courses can be taken as electives during the student's current non-CS TU/e Bachelor's program, as part of a pre-master program after obtaining their Bachelor's degree, or as homologation that can be part of the Master's program.

University of Applied Science Bachelor Degree (HBO)

Students with a matching Bachelor of Science from a Dutch University of Applied Science must follow a standard pre-master program in Information Security Technology before being admitted to the Master's program.

Deviating (Non-CS) Non-TU/e Bachelor

Students with a deviating university Bachelor's degree can only be admitted to the Master's IST program if the deficiency is not more than 15 credits. These students are advised to check the TU/e Bachelor's program in Computer Science and Engineering to estimate their deficiency.
