Program Overview


Introduction to the Diploma of Expert in Public Communication, Science Dissemination and Scientific Advising

The Scientific Culture Unit of the Autonomous University of Madrid, in collaboration with the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology-Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, offers a Diploma of Expert in Public Communication, Science Dissemination and Scientific Advising. This program aims to provide participants with the necessary tools to effectively communicate scientific research and technical knowledge to the general public.


Program Goals

The primary objectives of this program are to:


  • Demonstrate the usefulness and necessity of communicating science to the public.
  • Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge and skills on the production of written and oral texts on scientific topics intended for the general public.
  • Acquire skills in organizing science outreach events aimed at the general public.
  • Acquire the techniques of science communication in audiovisual media and social networks.
  • Acquire theoretical and practical knowledge and skills on the production of reports and presentation of scientific evidence for public authorities in different formats.

Program Structure

The program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of public communication, science dissemination, and scientific advising. It includes theoretical and practical training, enabling participants to develop the necessary skills for professional development in the field of social dissemination of scientific knowledge, R&D management, institutional scientific dissemination, promotion of scientific activity, knowledge transfer, scientific and popular journalism, and scientific advice.
