Máster en Epidemiología

Descripción del título

The Máster en Epidemiología provides a multidisciplinary and integrated knowledge of quantitative research methods with the greatest utility in epidemiology and public health. Specifically, the program aims to:


  • Form new excellent researchers in the field of Epidemiology, Preventive Medicine, and Public Health, increasing the contribution of Spanish science to knowledge production in this field.
  • Provide continued training for professors/researchers teaching the program, incorporating new methodologies and research and teaching techniques.
  • Train and capacitate human resources of the National Health System to identify and evaluate public health risks and problems and develop and evaluate effective and efficient policies and interventions in this field.

Objetivos de conocimiento, habilidades y actitudes

Upon completing this program, students will have achieved the following knowledge, skills, and attitudes:


  1. Systematic and theoretically well-founded knowledge of the main quantitative research methods in epidemiological research.
  2. Ability to elaborate fundable epidemiological research projects by national and international agencies.
  3. Ability to design sophisticated epidemiological research, develop data collection instruments, coordinate and supervise data collection, and manage and analyze a database competently.
  4. Ability to draft a publishable scientific manuscript in an international epidemiology, public health, and related sciences journal.
  5. Development of positive skills and attitudes for multidisciplinary team work.

Requisitos específicos de acceso y admisión

To apply for admission to the Máster en Epidemiología, it is recommended to have completed degrees (Licenciatura or Grado) related to Health Sciences and related fields. In the case of other degrees, training in statistics, probability, and research methodology must be accredited, which will be valued by the Master's Admission Committee.
