The Master's Degree in Art Therapy and Art Education for Social Inclusion is a joint degree between the Universidad Complutense and the Universidad Aut鏮oma de Madrid. Program Description
The program is designed to provide advanced, specialized, and interdisciplinary training in art therapy and art education for social inclusion. It aims to prepare students for professional practice, founded on theoretical and methodological principles, and motivated towards development and consolidation through research work.
Objectives
The main objectives of the program are:
- To provide advanced training in art therapy and art education for social inclusion in relation to different areas of action (health, social, educational, and cultural).
- To prepare students for professional practice, founded on theoretical and methodological principles.
- To enable students to develop actions for improvement, adapted to different social realities, needs, and demands.
- To develop cognitive, affective, and ethical capacities to apply training to problems, needs, and demands of different environments.
- To provide a solid basis for designing, applying, and evaluating intervention actions through art and art therapy with vulnerable groups in different contexts.
Admission Requirements
The program is aimed at individuals with an official university degree in fields such as Pedagogy, Psicopedagogy, Social Education, Primary Education, Fine Arts, Psychology, Psychiatry, Nursing, or Occupational Therapy. The ideal entry profile is a student with a degree in one of these areas, who also has training or practice related to art therapy and art education for social inclusion.
Admission Criteria
The admission criteria include:
- Academic record in the access degree (40%)
- Complementary training related to the master's degree (10%)
- Professional or research experience related to the master's degree (10%)
- Suitability of the student's profile (20%)
- Accredited languages (10%)
- Other merits, including a letter of motivation (10%)
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for the first enrollment are 4,087.00 for EU residents and 7,601.00 for non-EU residents.
Duration and Structure
The program lasts 1.5 years (90 ECTS) and is taught in Spanish. It is an in-person program with a professionalizing profile.
