Máster en Ingeniería Química (EUR-ACE)

The Máster Universitario en Ingeniería Química is a university degree organized jointly by the Departments of Tecnología Química y Energética and Tecnología Química y Ambiental of the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos and the Department of Ingeniería Química of the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. The Master's program offers advanced training for the practice of the profession of Ingeniero Químico, with a specialization oriented towards industrial production and research in important sectors such as the chemical, pharmaceutical, and biotechnological industries, environmental technology, and energy.

Máster's Degree Description

The Master's program is verified by the Agencia Nacional de Evaluación de la Calidad y Acreditación and complies with the guidelines of the Real Decreto 822/2021 (BOE 233 of 2021) for the title to enable the regulated profession of Ingeniero Químico, once the planned reforms are established in the current legislation.


The academic training of the Master's program, of a presential nature, is structured in 90 credits distributed in two courses, which are taught in the afternoon schedule. The study plan includes the modules Ingeniería de Procesos y Producto, Gestión y Optimización de la Producción y Sostenibilidad, and Trabajo Fin de Máster. The wide range of optional subjects allows the student to develop training itineraries oriented towards Tecnología Química y Energética, as well as towards Ingeniería Ambiental.

Admission and Enrolment

During the courses 25-26 and 26-27, the application for admission to the Master's program is presented at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos.


Specific Requirements for Access and Admission

The access procedure to the Master's program complies with the current regulations on access to official Master's teachings, being necessary to be in possession of an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution belonging to another State integrated into the European Higher Education Area that enables access to Master's studies.


Similarly, graduates according to educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area may access without the need for homologation of their degrees, prior verification by the University that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that they enable access to postgraduate studies in the country issuing the degree.

The training of the Master's program is oriented towards the consolidation of specific competencies acquired in the Grado de Ingeniería Química, mainly focused on the design, management, and direction of projects and research in areas related to Ingeniería de Procesos y Producto, and other related areas such as Ingeniería Ambiental, Biotecnología, and Energía.
