Doctoral Program in Philosophy and Language Sciences
Program Overview
Doctoral Program in Philosophy and Language Sciences
Description
The Doctoral Program in Philosophy and Language Sciences aims to train researchers capable of understanding and transmitting to society a variety of knowledge within the fields of philosophy and theoretical and applied linguistics.
In the field of philosophy, the objective is to understand from a multidisciplinary perspective the diversity of the fields of philosophical thought and to articulate the proposals coming from philosophy with other fields such as history, social and political sciences, Earth sciences, cognitive sciences, and language sciences.
The field of language sciences aims to train researchers capable of analyzing and transferring to society different forms and processes of language and communication: origin and development of language, relationships between languages and linguistic groups, changes and variations, applications discourse analysis, language learning in natural and bilingual and non-bilingual educational contexts, translation and translation studies, computing and artificial intelligence, language counseling, and intercultural communication.
Due to the diversity of the disciplines that are included in these teachings, the program responds to the training needs of those who are interested in specialized training in the disciplinary field of philosophy or linguistics, but also contemplates interdisciplinary training routes.

Labor Insertion
The UAM has an Employability Observatory that collects, analyzes, and provides information on the employability and job placement process of its graduates.
The Observatory prepares annual reports aggregated by branches, and only if there are more than 10 responses received are individual reports of the Doctoral Program made.
When the number of responses is less than 10, the results are shown aggregated in the branch reports.
