Introduction to the UCT Online High School
The UCT Online High School is an ecosystem designed to enable access to affordable, high-quality, online learning opportunities for learners from all socioeconomic backgrounds. This initiative is a result of the partnership between the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the Valenture Institute, aiming to close the secondary education inequality gap and unleash the potential of Africa's children.
Program Offerings
The UCT Online High School comprises three distinct offerings:
- South African National Senior Certificate (CAPS) Curriculum
- Adult Matric Preparation Programme
- Free Curriculum (SA National Senior Curriculum, CAPS aligned)
Scholarship and Bursary Programme
The Learning Liberated Scholarship & Bursary Programme for 2025 is available, which is aligned with the SA National Senior Curriculum and CAPS.

The Valenture Institute is a leading global ed-tech company founded in 2019, with the mission of creating aspirational learning opportunities for high school learners. The institute brings expertise in learning design, robust technology, sophisticated analytics, and excellent support services to enable partner schools to make a significant impact.
