Course Overview
The Hospital Coding and Billing course is designed for management, case managers, credit controllers, auditors, and billing and pre-authorisation clerks working in a hospital environment.
Course Content
- The background to coding and billing in South Africa
- RPL hospital billing and coding rules pertaining to:
- Accommodation
- Theatre
- Procedure fees
- Equipment and instruments
- Drugs, materials, Consumables and Disposables
- Reimbursement methods
- The relationship between ICD-10, CSSA, NAPPI, and hospital billing
Course Format
The course is available in both live lecture and distance learning (e-learning) formats. Live lectures are conducted via Microsoft Teams, while the e-learning version allows participants to complete the course at their own pace within a specified timeframe.
Certification
A digital certificate of attendance will be issued to participants who complete the course.
Registration and Fees
The course fee is R 4,500. Payment terms and registration procedures are specified on the university's website. Group bookings for a minimum of 12 participants can be arranged upon request.
