Introduction to the Sutton Trust Summer School

Eligibility and Application

To be eligible for the program, students must:


  • Be in S5 (Scotland), Year 12 (England and Wales), or Year 13 (Northern Ireland)
  • Have always attended a state-funded school or college
  • Meet certain criteria, such as:
    • Achieving at least five GCSEs at grades 9 to 6 (A* to B)
    • Having parents who have not attended university
    • Receiving free school meals or EMA
    • Attending a school or college with a below-average A-level or Higher point score
    • Living in a neighborhood with a low rate of progression to higher education
