Managing and Leading Conservation Projects

This online course is designed for conservation practitioners seeking an introduction to management and leadership training within the context of wildlife conservation.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

1. Critically review, consolidate, and extend knowledge, skills, practices, and thinking within the discipline of leadership and apply it to the field of wildlife conservation.
2. Apply knowledge, skills, and understanding using a significant range of principal professional skills, techniques, practices, and/or materials associated with the management of teams and how to facilitate their improved performance.
3. Exercise substantial autonomy and initiative in reflecting on personal values, competencies, and performance within teams and organizations, and apply an understanding of how to promote effective interpersonal interactions.

The course fee is £400.

Course Details

The course runs over a period of five weeks and is delivered part-time through a series of online recorded presentations, background reading materials, individual assignments, and online discussion forums. It is structured to encourage participants to apply the learning to their work. The course is offered in partnership with Fauna and Flora.
