Program Overview
Program Description
The metaverse is an immersive cyberspace that integrates digital and physical worlds. It represents the future industry where artificial intelligence, blockchain, 5G, Internet of Things, virtual reality, and other next-generation information technologies are innovatively integrated and applied. This project aims to introduce the development of China's research and application in the metaverse field, providing opportunities for students from overseas to understand this area.
Program Details
Class Schedule
The Summer Program will take place from June 29th to July 13th, 2025. The agenda includes:
- June 29th: Student registration, reception, and pick-up
- June 30th: Opening ceremony and campus tour
- July 1st: Lecture on introduction to metaverse and visits to schools/colleges at HUST
- July 2nd: Lecture on digital humans and visits to national research platforms at HUST
- July 3rd: Lectures on foundations of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and AIGC
- July 4th: Survey of China and Chinese cultural event
- July 5th: City tour at Hubei Provincial Museum and Yellow Crane Tower
- July 6th: Sports and Chinese cultural event
- July 7th: Lectures on 3D reconstruction and its applications in the metaverse, and virtual reality and mixed reality
- July 8th: Lecture on immersive communication and investigation trip to Optics Valley
- July 9th: Investigation trip to Dongfeng Motor Corporation and HUST Junshan Campus
- July 10th: Lecture on integration of communications, sensing, and computing, and hands-on practices in labs
- July 11th: Team activity at Jiangxia Farm
- July 12th: Group reports and closing ceremony
- July 13th: Free time and departure from Wuhan
Eligibility
To be eligible for the program, applicants must:
- Be non-Chinese citizens with valid passports
- Be between 18-35 years old
- Be currently registered as a full-time student in foreign higher institutions/college/university
Fees
The program fees include:
- Tuition fee: 5000 CNY, including all lectures and study materials
- Accommodation fee: 700 CNY/month (double room standard)
- Living expenditure and round-trip ticket are not included
